In which the pond sinks into the bromancer swamp ...

On the surface, and at any level below the surface, that angle is preposterous and silly, and so naturally the pond had to abandon nattering "Ned" for the day, and read on ...

As usual, and as with any Murdochian worth his salt, the bromancer had channelled the instruction issued recently by the Donald ...

And that's just what the bromancer does, with his talk of crooked Hillary and Bill's swamp taking down the presumably pure and untainted Donald ... well so the Donald says ...

So much yelling ...

And so to the bromancer explaining how the current state of affairs is actually all the fault of the Clintons...

Yep, if ever you wanted a correspondent at the Salem witch trials, the bromancer is your man ... he can spot the way the Clintons are witches with an unerring eye ...

Now this, for the moment, is as good as the disingenuous dissembling gets ... nothing to see here, and nothing wrong with chatting with the Russians and trying to sell out your country, the real crime was getting caught telling a fib, and what a modest and inconsequential crime that is, no worse than telling a fib about a blow job ...

Why soon enough the brave lad will be pardoned by the Donald and where's the harm in that?

What a classic half-baked, half-arsed bromancer fudge, though at least he didn't go the full WSJ, and demand that Mueller - foolishly searching for crimes like a terrier hunting for rats amongst the innocent Donald clan - be sacked forthwith, terminated and dismissed, and the entire affair forgotten so that the Donald could get on with the job of giving the filthy rich a tax break and ending health care for millions and otherwise fucking over the entirely useless poor ...

And the pond had given up nattering "Ned" for that?

It made the pond determined to have an after-dinner mint, and what better way to do that than nibble on a delicious dashing Donners?

Foolish reptiles, they entirely missed the real selling point ...

Yes, Soviet-style approach!

That's the dogwhistle, reptile sub, and please don't leave it up to google next time ...

How dare you fail to highlight the way dashing Donners is banging on about a Soviet-style approach to education, which, it has to be said, is completely unlike the Catholic style theological indoctrination, Ponzi scheme, give me a child of seven and I'll make him a tormented Catholic for life, approach to education ...

How important it is for creationists and Catholics to be able to roam wild and free, and make life hurtful and hateful for anyone of a minority persuasion they disdain ...

And even worse, it might result in a poofter sneaking into the Catholic system! And what would that do to the poor children in the care of Catholics, as they imbibe their homophobia on a daily basis ...

Never mind, as the Donald was raised earlier, it seems only fair to revert to a Rowe, celebrating the season, with more Rowe here ...

And now, this ...

And now, simply for the fun of seeing the Donald talk to children, this ...

And now, this ... just for the fun of seeing the Donald handing out candy ...

  1. I wonder what Donners, as an enthusiatic champion of "the western canon" would have to say about Émile Combes, that fine French PM of the very early 20th century:

"...under his guidance France took the first definite steps toward the separation of church and state. By 1904, through his efforts, nearly 10,000 religious schools had been closed and thousands of priests and nuns left France rather than be persecuted."

Now that's a wonderful precedent to live up to, isn't it. When can we start in Australia ?

And then we have Broady Boy quoting the PISA in Focus No 9: "...where schools have greater autonomy over what is taught and how students are assessed students tend to perform better."

    Or, in short:
"We teach them what they need to pass the tests; then we set the tests for what we've taught them; and then we congratulate ourselves on the result."

(or words to that effect which I first encountered on the treasured pages of Nation Review, authored, I vaguely recall, by Max Teichmann)

  2. Hi Dorothy,

In what will be a loss to future historians, Rupert’s Texan bride, Jerry Hall, put a stop to his twitter habit. An event that must have left a lot of the Murdochian reptiles worldwide unsure what their Dear Leader required of them.

There were also rumours recently that Rupert’s initial enthusiasm for a Trump presidency was cooling, as both his new wife and sons, horrified by the toxic orange POTUS, were advising caution and distance.

Criticism of Trump had recently started to surface in News Corp reportage but evidently the chance of a massive tax break was just too tempting for Murdoch.

In an all out coordinated move, the Murdoch media have come out across the board to defend Trump. Obfuscation, misdirection and outright denial are all emanating from Murdoch’s media outlets worldwide. Whatabouterism is a key part of the strategy as Hillary is dragged out as the scape goat and onto who all the political sins can be cast.

Sheridan as a loyal little reptile is just following orders.

Although a few Republicans are complaining about the smell emanating from the White House, most are holding their noses and are hoping they can drive their massive tax cuts through as soon as possible.

I wonder if it has occurred to Trump and his evidently brilliant advisers that once he has fulfilled his purpose and Wall Street, the Corporations and the 1% all get their tax breaks, that Donald will be surplus to requirements.

    1. At the risk of overpopulating the Godwin jar, DW, maybe someone should remind Murdoch et al of the belief held by von Hindenburg and the Junkers that they would be able to curb and/or control Chancellor Hitler.

It may not be so easy to decide who is "surplus to requirements".

    2. Well said. It's quaint to watch the Murdoch sycophants try to second-guess their bosses and follow the eat-your-young style of journalism they feel is required to keep their jobs. Once upon a time, before the orange one's inauguration, Sheridan was letting the world know that US Republicans had inducted a madman, a loop who didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of being elected president, and that if Americans went bonkers and committed that crime, the nation itself was doomed. Another wonderful example of the contradictions from the Murdoch minions is the Devine's piece on the utter wickedness of Kevin Spacey, shortly after taking Pell's back during the wicked process of Georgie's victimisation.

  3. Hi GB,

I was going to write a lengthy piece about Trump being a demagogue but it came a bit ridiculous.

Trump is a 71 year old knob. Full Stop.

    Nothing will change that.

    1. True, DW, but he is the POTUS (with self-pardoning rights and powers) and he is the beloved subject of the loyal affections of a large and totally 'epistemically closed' base of Americans.

Not entirely unlike Adolph is his heyday.
